In a surprising move, veteran tight end Darren Waller has announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of 31. Waller spent the last five seasons with the New York Giants, having previously played for the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens.
Waller, a one-time Pro Bowler, enjoyed a breakout season with the Raiders in 2019, catching 90 passes for over 1,100 yards. In 2021, he set a Raiders franchise record with 107 receptions in a single season.
