Eagles Add WR Depth With Keon Coleman
Former Michigan State Wide Receiver Announces Transfer to Boston College
Proven Playmaker to Strengthen Eagles' Receiving Corps
The Boston College Eagles have bolstered their wide receiver depth with the addition of Keon Coleman, a graduate transfer from Michigan State University. Coleman, a highly skilled and experienced pass-catcher, will provide a much-needed boost to the Eagles' offense.
Coleman had a breakout season in 2022, totaling 39 receptions for 585 yards and four touchdowns. He was a key target for Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne and showcased his ability to make big plays downfield. Coleman's size (6'4", 230 lbs) and athleticism make him a difficult matchup for opposing defensive backs.
"Keon is a welcome addition to our team," said Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley. "He's a talented receiver with a proven track record of success. We're excited to have him on the field next season."
Coleman entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in the spring of 2023 and was actively pursued by several top programs. Ultimately, he chose to join Boston College, citing the program's commitment to academic and athletic excellence. "I'm thrilled to be joining the Boston College family," said Coleman. "I believe this is the best fit for my development both on and off the field."
The addition of Coleman will provide a significant upgrade to the Eagles' receiving corps. He joins a talented group of pass-catchers that includes returning starters CJ Lewis and Jaelen Gill. Coleman's presence will help spread the field and create more opportunities for Boston College's offense.
Coleman is expected to play a major role for the Eagles in 2023. With his size, athleticism, and playmaking ability, he has the potential to become a go-to target for quarterback Emmett Morehead. The Boston College offense is poised to make a big leap forward next season, and Coleman's addition is a key reason why.
